Overview of Content
It was one of Ibn Hajr's greatest works in status, deepest in knowledge, and most cherished by Muslims: his commentary on the comprehensive Book Title: Fath Al-Bari with Commentary on Sahih Al-Bukhari Author: Imam Ibn Hajr Al-Asqalani Commentary: Sheikh Abdul-Aziz bin Baz Publisher: Dar Al-Hadith Number of Volumes: 15 The Authentic - which Muslims agreed is the most authentic book after the Book of Allah - and it is the Sahih of Imam Al-Bukhari (256 AH) which he named "Fath Al-Bari with Commentary on Sahih Al-Bukhari" and which is rightfully considered one of the respected registers of Islam, and its important scholarly sources, so no student of knowledge nor jurist; nor even a mufti nor mujtahid can do without it, so the commentary came as a massive and magnificent work
He took to collecting it, authoring it, dictating it and refining it for more than twenty-five years, where he began it in the early part of the year 817 AH, when he was 44 years old at that time, and finished it on the first of Rajab of the year 842 AH. He compiled in it commentaries from before him on Sahih Al-Bukhari, expanding in it the clarification of the Authentic and explanation of its problematic issues, narration of matters of consensus, expansion of disagreement in jurisprudence and authentication and weakening and linguistics and readings, with clear attention to establishing the Authentic
Sahih Al-Bukhari and its narrations and drawing attention to the differences in them, along with many benefits and rare gems and useful digressions ... etc. until the sources of the Hafiz in it exceeded (1200) books from the works of those before him
